This version of the Laser Safety Certificate Course is appropriate for those working in Surgical & Dental environments. Technologies such as laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) will always carry inherent risks such as eye injury or skin burns…as a result it is important that operator’s, owners and associated staff and support personnel, have a minimum level of expertise and education in regard to the hazards and safeguards associated with their use in order to protect their clients, staff and themselves against inadvertent exposure and possible injury as well as minimize risk of litigation.
The AKISS Laser and IPL safety training course is endorsed by Queensland Health (ED151) and is one of the requirements needed before anyone can purchase, use or maintain a Laser system in Queensland. The Class IV Laser and Intense Pulse Light Safety Course includes a 37 page manual and a 7 page multiple choice exam. Upon completion of the exam, it will be graded by a Radiation Safety Officer.
After you have made your payment, please wait to receive your course material (approx 12-48 hours after your payment has been cleared). You will then be able to download and print the course manual and exam. Once you have completed your exam, you can then mail it back to us or email.
PLEASE NOTE: Each person requiring a certificate will need to pass the course or a further fee will be required to be re-examined. Certificates are non-transferable and will be dated. Certificates will be posted by registered mail to the student within 28 working days of exam completion.
